To All Participants:

The Barrie Colts and the Rotary Club of Barrie-Kempenfelt welcome you to the 21st annual “Colt For The Day” charity hockey game. To date, the event has raised over $225,000 for community projects.

Back in May of 2003, the Barrie Colts and members of the Rotary Club agreed that the two groups should work together on an event to raise some much-needed money for charity. Several ideas were tossed around, and the best suggested one that kept coming back, was to give young people the opportunity to play hockey with some of their favourite players. Young fans seldom have the occasion to get really close to the players, and the idea of this charity game makes this a reality, while raising money for local charities at the same time.

Due to the hard work and dedication of many volunteers, we are pleased to say this year marks the 21st event, as more than 125 children will be playing along members of the Barrie Colts 2025-26 team. The Colts also welcome 30 participants from Big Brothers Big Sisters, the YMCA, and We Are the Villagers who are playing today thanks to the support of Rotarians and community members.

Enjoy the game, and best of luck!
