Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie and District is thrilled to once again be in partnership with the Barrie Colts and The Kempenfelt Rotary Club for the 19th annual “Colt for a Day” event. This year 8 of the Little Brothers and Little Sisters we serve through a variety of mentoring programs will have the opportunity to take to the ice for a day of celebration, community, and fun with the Barrie Colts. Experiences like this are often a once in a lifetime event, and the meaning behind providing such opportunities cannot be expressed enough to all involved in making this happen for our Littles.
The Kempenfelt Rotary Club and the Barrie Colts have honoured this partnership for now 19 YEARS, impacting more then 100 young people who have been a part of our mentoring programs and contributing tens of thousands of dollars to our agency. The impact can be felt immediately in the Littles who are a part of Colt for a Day, and often begins before and extends well after they leave the arena. The efforts and collaborations of all our organizations working together are creating foundational memories for these children they can look back on and share for years to come.
All of us at BBBS Barrie thank you for not only creating such amazing opportunities for our Littles, but for seeing children as they are, welcoming and encouraging them in new skills and experiences, and for your ongoing commitment to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie & District movement.
